Why I Built This Program (And Why It Took This Long)

For most of my career, I was the person other people came to when something was wrong.

That’s the job of a psychiatrist: to listen carefully, to diagnose accurately, to prescribe thoughtfully, and to help people find their way back to function. I was good at it. I am still proud of what I learned in those years.

But I kept noticing something.

The women who came to me, particularly the mothers, weren’t only struggling with a disorder or a diagnosis. They were struggling with the accumulation of years of putting themselves last. Of being needed so constantly, so completely, that somewhere in the middle of it all they had lost the thread back to themselves.

Standard psychiatric care helped. But it didn’t reach everything. And the more I paid attention, the more I understood that what was missing wasn’t a better medication or a different therapeutic model. It was a place, a real, held, witnessed place, where a woman could do the deeper work. Where she could acknowledge what she was actually carrying. Where the body, and not just the mind, was part of the healing.

I found that place first for myself.

I had achieved every external marker of professional success. And I was exhausted in a way that none of it could touch. An energy healing course, taken almost as an experiment , changed things in a way years of intellectual training had not. I learned breathwork. I trained in EFT. I studied HeartMath and the physiology of the nervous system outside of the clinical framework I had always used. I found that the things I had been taught to treat separately, body and soul, science and spirit, were not separate at all.

And then I started offering that to the women I worked with.

What I saw stopped me.

Women who had been in therapy for years, who had done the work, who were by every clinical measure “functioning,” experiencing releases and shifts and moments of clarity that they described as the most important work they had ever done. Not instead of the medical care they were receiving. Alongside it. In the places that medical care had never quite reached.

Spiritual Moms Find Peace is my attempt to make that container available.

In a structured, sequenced, research-informed way.

Five modules. A small group, by design, twelve women. An application process, because this program only works when every woman in the room is genuinely ready for it. And a framework that holds both the evidence and the soul, because I refuse to make them compete.

I built this program because I am a psychiatrist who knows what research says about the nervous system, about grief, about the physiology of stored emotion. I also built it because I am a healer who has watched those same processes happen in real people, in real bodies, in ways that no chart could fully capture.

And I built it because I am a woman who has carried the weight this program addresses.

If any part of this speaks to something in you, if you have been doing the work and still feel like something isn’t reaching the deeper places, I would love to read your application.

Twelve spots. Applications open October 6 and close October 17.

The application is at: www.elizabethssemanda.com.
